Real Change: Promotional Design

Role: Typography, Illustration, Layout
As part of a cohort-wide design contest, I created a series of promotional materials advertising Real Change’s 2020 Winter Fund Drive.
Founded in 1994, Real Change is a Seattle non-profit organization which provides job opportunities to low-income and homeless people and advocates for economic, social, and racial justice. Designing for Real Change provided the valuable experience of creating work which would be used in a real-life setting for the advancement of important social justice initiatives.
My designs were selected as one of three finalists for the prize of actually being used by the organization.

At the center of Real Change sits their community. Their vendors are the lifeblood of their work and the focus of their fund drive. To honor that, the promotional materials I designed feature a graphic representation of that diverse vendor community. Colors and typefaces pulled from the organization’s style guide were used to deliver an active call for donations.

A digital version of the 8.5 x 11 poster, a version formatted for Facebook use, and a version formatted for Instagram use are pictured to the left.
